The Dataprobe iPIO plugin brings the iPIO-2, iPIO-8 and iPIO-16 relay and contact-input units into Q-SYS as native controls. It detects the model from the unit and shows the right number of channels. Each relay gets a toggle, a pulse timed by the iPIO itself and an indicator of its confirmed state, and All On and All Off are included. Contact inputs are polled twice a second, and relay states are read back from the unit, so changes made from the iPIO’s web page show up in Q-SYS too. Connection settings, status, relays and inputs are all available as control pins, and the plugin reports to Core Manager and Enterprise Manager. It was written from the ground up around the iPIO’s DxP protocol to stay connected: one request at a time, paced reconnects that never overload the unit, clear status text when something goes wrong, and an optional telnet reboot, manual or automatic, to recover a unit whose DxP service has stopped answering.

One $50 license covers one design, whichever Core or redundant pair that design runs on, and every iPIO block in it. A system with several units still needs only one license. It is a lifetime license: no renewals, and when the design moves to a new Core you deactivate it from the old one and activate it on the new one. You can activate a purchased license in Designer’s emulator and build and test for up to 30 days of emulation time before binding it to the Core. Deploying more than one design? Set the quantity to the number of designs. You will receive a single license key with that many activations, not a separate key for each design. Activate the same key in each design; every activation is listed under My Account, and deactivating a design there, or from the plugin, frees its seat for another.Requires Q-SYS Designer 9.5 or later.
